Ugh. This afternoon has been a bit of a drag. I've been systematically experimenting with scanner settings, trying to find a good balance between low file size and high image quality. I'm so jealous of whatever method JSTOR uses to produce PDFs! Their stuff is full text and about 20KB a page. Hopefully by the end of this week that won't be as impressive to me as it is now.
